String Quartets Plus

A Touch of Class

In recent years an exciting venture called "String Quartets Plus" came into being. As the name suggests this group of accomplished string players consists of two violinists, one violist and one cellist.

The quartet members have played in various musical ensembles including the Camberwell Piano Quintette and the Melbourne Sinfonia. Neville also enjoys arranging music for strings and many of these arrangements are included in the "String Quartets Plus" repertoire.

Who

Neville Philpot: A Mus.A; L Mus.A (Violin Performance), the leader of "String Quartets Plus", is a violinist with over seventeen years experience in the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Our other regular string players, Hayley, Setsuko and Anna are also highly experienced musicians, having achieved A Mus. A; L Mus. A; B Mus. and other qualifications.

Where

As well as playing in the Melbourne Metropolitan Area, "String Quartets Plus" has taken their music into the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsular and the Dandenong Ranges. They have performed at a range of venues including reception centres, wineries, churches and chapels, private residences, parks and gardens, hotels, clubs and restaurants.
